Bedford mourns the passing and loss of Harold Russell, beloved husband of Thelma Russell and father of three stalwart sons.
Since their early 1960’s move here, Harold has variously been active in the Bedford Counsel of Human Relations, Concerned Black Citizens, and Boys Scouts of America. He and Thelma, as members, were major participants and staunch contributors to the activities and functions of The First Baptist Church of Bedford.
Harold’s work with the youth and on major boards endeared him to all ages. His ready smile and infectious laughter could change attitudes and evoke harmony in any assembly. He was known to coax children with phrases such as “Where’s that smile? I need that smile.” We all smile in remembrance. For that is what Harold would want us to do.
