Health & Wellness Expo
Middlesex Community College will host a Health & Wellness Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, in the Bedford Campus Center, 591 Springs Road (snow date Feb. 19). Free and open to the public, MCC’s Health & Wellness Expo features a variety of health-care providers and community organizations providing screenings, services and information.
Presented by MCC’s Center for Health & Wellness, the Bedford Health & Wellness Expo will include information about topics such as nutrition and healthy eating, acupuncture and tobacco treatment. The Boston Area Rape Crisis Center will be on hand to answer questions, and the Safety 911 EMS Educators will be providing CPR demonstrations. Visitors can also get free screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, oral-cancer and melanoma.
“This year we are offering various health and wellness short sessions throughout the duration of the Expo,” said Stephanie Hamelin, MCC Health and Wellness educator and Expo organizer. Sessions include an overview of credit-card management, relaxation and mediation, sound therapy, yoga for beginners, a short fitness class, and a scavenger hunt.
“We have worked hard to cover more aspects of health and wellness, and create a more interactive event for attendees,” added Hamelin.
