On Friday, March 14, teachers from all four Bedford schools gathered for an in-service workshop on culture and race that was planned late last year by a committee of representatives from each school.
The teachers learned about having conversations about cultures and race; the guest speaker was Kalise Wornum, METCO Coordinator for the Wellsesley school department. “This is a first step in helping Bedford’s staff and classrooms to become culturally proficient,” said Lane School Principal Rob Ackerman.
The teachers viewed the following film about Concord Carlisle High School’s METCO program.
