Ticks & Rabies: Board of Health Looks Toward Spring with a Pair of Programs

Public-Health-LogoThe Bedford Board of Health is promoting a pair of interesting and important programs in March: Tick Talk in Bedford on March 11, and a rabies clinic in Carlisle to which Bedford dog-owners are invited on March 15.

Tick Talk in Bedford on March 11

Lyme disease was Bedford’s Tick Talk – The Ecology and Management of Tick-Borne Diseases,  will be presented by

Professor Sam Telford, Ph.D., a leading researcher in tick-borne diseases from Tufts University, will give an important educational presentation on “The Ecology and Management of Tick-Borne Diseases” on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Bedford Town Hall, Multi-Purpose Room, 10 Mudge Way, Bedford, MA. The Tick Talk begins at 7 PM but doors open at 6:30 PM and you are invited to come early to browse through our displays and information tables. Rabies Clinic in Carlisle on March 15

The Bedford Board of Health is pleased to inform Bedford residents that they are invited to attend a Rabies Vaccination Clinic for cats and dogs on Saturday, March 15, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Carlisle Town Hall, 66 Westford Street, Carlisle, MA.

The clinic is sponsored by the Carlisle Board of Health with the assistance of Tiffany Rule, DVM and staff from the Countryside Veterinary Hospital. State law requires vaccination against rabies for all cats and dogs.

You must bring your pet’s vaccination certificate (actual paperwork) in order to determine eligibility for a three-year vaccine. A rabies tag is not sufficient. The cost is $10.00 per animal. Cash is appreciated but checks will be accepted. Dogs must be on leashes and cats brought in carriers. No appointment is required.
