A Sign of the Times?

The Citizen was alerted earlier today to a sign posted on the fence at the edge of the driveway leading to the offices of the Carlisle Mosquito. It indicated a possible change of leadership for the lively non-profit institution that has published a weekly newspaper delivered free to all Carlisle residents since  1972.

In an interview, the staff of the Mosquito noted that similarly fanciful signs have appeared in Carlisle on April 1 in other years.

Two other signs were noticed along Rte 225 this morning: A Dairy Queen sign at Kimball’s/Bates Farm, and a putative pick-your-own p*t sign at the farm taking root at the former site of the Seawright day lily garden.

In 2013 Ferns, the popular convenience store and eatery at the Carlisle rotary, sported a sign saying “Coming Soon: Taco Bell.”

Pranked? Carlisle seems to have raised it to an art!
