Town Manager Richard Reed reported to the Selectmen (April 28) that a citizen recently complained that a yew bush is obstructing the Mudge Way entrance to the rear Library parking lot.  Examination and assessment of the bush determined that the observation was valid.  Removal of the yew was recommended.

Given its location within the Jenk’s Nature Trail, removal required the approval of the Selectmen, School Committee and Library Trustees as per the agreement governing this area.  All agreed that the yew should be removed.  In addition, the Arbor Resources Committee, Historic Preservation and the Department of Public Works have consented.
