A final “Goodnight Bedford” from Ron Cordes marked the end of his role as co-host on Bedford TV’s Bedford Common. On the June 2014 show Ron Cordes, along with co-host Julie Turner, did his last interview. The pair has hosted Bedford Common for six years, each month interviewing town officials and other special guests. Prior to that Cordes was a co-host on Bedford Magazine with Kathy Kourian.

Looking back, Cordes said among the programs he enjoyed most were those featuring kids. Interviewing Odyssey of the Mind, now Destination Imagination, kids and a Bedford High School team collaborating with a Billerica company in a national robot-building contest were a treat.

Another highlight Cordes noted, were the “meet the new Commander” segments when a new base commander would arrive at Hanscom Field. Those interviews often prompted many positive comments on the street.

“Working with Ron has been a pleasure,” said Turner. “His knowledge of town affairs and interest in the community at large has served Bedford Common well.”

Cordes thanked Turner, Production Director Greg Dolan and all the crew at Bedford TV. “Leaving is a hard thing to do. Everyone I’ve worked with has been great, but it is time to say goodbye.” Cordes is moving on, saying, ”It is time to do something else.“

Bedford Common will go on a summer hiatus since most town boards revert to a vacation schedule. A search for a new co-host is underway.
