In a telephone interview late this afternoon Bedford Fire Chief David Grunes told The Bedford Citizen that significant damage to the woods behind the Coast Guard houses on Mickelson Road resulted in two more damaged houses, raising the total to 10. Because the houses are unoccupied and neighbors seemed to be away the damages went undiscovered until late Tuesday.

Town Manager Rick Reed surveyed the property and expressed amazement that so much damage could take place so quickly.
