Students at Bedford High School were evacuated to John Glenn Middle School after what school officials described as a “non-credible” bomb threat. Superintendent Sills alerted parents through automated phone messages,  informing them of the evacuation and stating that it was a precaution.

The Bedford Free Public library was also closed while the police swept the building to insure its safety; the library re-opened at 2 pm.

Students were dismissed early due to the half-day and the time needed to secure the building would mean students would not return to classes before the end of the day.

School sports and the BHS football team dinner scheduled for this evening are also cancelled.

Superintendent Jon Sills sent an email to Bedford families, faculty and school staff this afternoon. Click here to read his message.
