At 8 am on Thursday, November 27, runners and walkers, adults and kids alike, will step off in Bedford’s 8th annual Turkey Trot, a 5k Fun Run and 2-mile Fun Walk that benefits the Bedford Community Table and Food Pantry (www.bedfordfoodpantry.org).

The Turkey Trot offers an on-line registration option this year, and an incentive to register early: The first 150 participants will receive a Turkey Trot t-shirt, compliments of race sponsor Bedford Florists. Race organizer Rich Hamilton reported recently that more than 60 runners/walkers have already registered.

Online Registration

Online Registration is open thru November 10. The donation for online registrations before November 10 is $25, and the donation for registration on race day climbs to $30 per person. Pre-registered participants can pick up their race bib/runner number and t-shirt (if they are among the first 150 registrants) from 3 to 8 pm on Wednesday, November 26.

Race-Day Schedule

  • 7 am: Registration opens
  • 8 am: Walkers leaving
  • 8:10 am, sharp: Runners step off

The Turkey Trot begins and ends at John Glenn Middle School Location Map

Prizes

Along with prizes for the top female and male runners, there will be special prizes based on unique criteria – oldest & youngest runners, first walker, first pet finisher, family with the most participants and finally, who came the furthest for this year’s Turkey Trot. Prizes again will be donated by the race’s sponsor, Nancy at Bedford Florists.

With Thanks for their Help

The Turkey Trot acknowledges with gratitude its major sponsor, Nancy at Bedford Florists https://www.bedfordfloristandgifts.com/

Race officials greatly appreciate the assistance of the officers of the Bedford High School Class of 2015 who will, along with some of their classmates, earn Community Service credit for helping with race preparation, registration, and safety along the course.

Participation Waiver Requirement

As part of the on-line and race day registration process a liability waiver form will need to be acknowledged by all walkers/runners that will be participating. For those individuals under 18 years of age your parent/legal guardian must complete your application on your behalf. On Race Day, the registration and waiver form must be completed by your parent/guardian or you will not be able to participate, so please register in advance.

In order to help expedite the Registration process, please email Race Coordinator Rich Hamilton: [email protected] in order to have the Registration/Waiver Form emailed to you in advance of race day if not registering on-line before 11/10.
