The Rotary Club of Bedford welcomed Santa to breakfast on Sunday morning, December 14, along with several hundred families who came to meet him. The line to speak with the jolly fellow in the handsome red velvet suit often reached half-way around the Bedford High School cafeteria.

With support from members of Bedford High School’s Interact Club and students at Callahan Karate Institute along with Rotarians and community volunteers, families enjoyed a hearty breakfast, crafts and the all-important conversation and photo-op with Santa.

A quintessential element of the holidays in Bedford for more than 25 years, Rotary’s annual Breakfast with Santa is a fundraiser that supports multiple club initiatives:

  • Rotary Scholarships, awarded each year through Citizens Scholarship Foundation;
  • Bicycle Safety Day, where free bicycle tune-ups with helmets are available to the community; and the
  • Meal-Packing Program, scheduled for April 15, 2015, where the Bedford Rotary collaborates with Stop Hunger Now to package thousands of meals in a single day.

The Rotary Club of Bedford wishes to thank this year’s major sponsors — Middlesex Savings Bank, the Goddard School and Callahan Karate among others; the morning’s volunteer team; and the families who come every year to enjoy the fun.
