Marc Mandel from the Boston Symphony Orchestra will discuss the music of Dmitri Shostakovich and Gustav Mahler in the  BSO 101: Listening Up Close in a free program at the Bedford Free Public Library at 2 pm on Sunday March 15.

Despite their very different origins and musical styles, the personal lives of these two composers had a strikingly profound influence on the music they created.
