Joe Bellino Named Bedford’s 2015 Memorial Day Grand Marshal

The Bedford Patriotic Holiday Committee is pleased to announce that long-time Bedford resident Joe Bellino has been named Bedford’s 2015 Memorial Day Grand Marshal.

Mr. Bellino’s athletic accomplishments include being named Parade All-American in football and baseball while playing for Winchester High School. Joe is a 1961 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy where he excelled in football and baseball and was named to the All-America Football Team. The 1960 winner of the Heisman Trophy and Maxwell Trophy. Joe played for the New England Patriots and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1976.

Mr. Bellino’s military service after graduation included four years active duty in the U.S. Navy, including Vietnam and participation in the Cuban Missile Crisis. Joe retired Captain in the U. S. Naval Reserves after 29 years of service. Since the end of his active military service and playing career, Joe has been a successful businessman and has been active in charitable organizations. He and his Ann wife have two children, Therese and John, and three grandchildren.
