Bedford TV held their annual party and awards ceremony on Friday, June 19th. The event, held in the Great Room at Old Town Hall, was a celebration to thank the many volunteers that help out at the station.

Bedford TV also presented two scholarships to graduating seniors from BHS for their contribution to Bedford TV. This year’s recipients were Meg Ryan, who worked behind the scenes at BHS Live for 4 years, and Danae Bucci, who covered a number of school events for Bedford TV.

Bedford TV Production Director, Greg Dolan said, “It was good to see so many of our volunteers come out to the annual party to celebrate with us. They give so much of their time and do such good work for us that it’s nice to be able to get them all together to show our appreciation. Both of our scholarship winners this year incredibly deserved for the hard work they have done for Bedford TV during their time at BHS.  Meg Ryan was integral to BHS Live, the daily morning announcements show, as she consistently worked hard behind the scenes to make sure the show went off each morning without a hitch. Danae Bucci took the Broadcast Journalism course twice while she was at BHS and covered a number of school events for Bedford TV. She was a pleasure to have in class and the events she covered helped bring more of what happens at BHS to our loyal viewers.”

Guests were treated to live musical performances by some of Bedford TV’s favorite musical guests – Bedford Day favorite Allen Zhou, Riverfest performer Katrina Gustafson and the evening’s entertainment concluded with Penpa Tsering and friends.

Bedford TV volunteer, Ann Seamans said of the party “it was an amazing start to summer. With music, delicious food and lovely table decorations, the ambience created an easy environment for meeting and talking to other guests. Paula Gilarde and Julie Antriasian created elegant tables with centerpieces depicting current shows on Bedford TV. I sat at the Pretty. Simple. Gardens table because I find the five-minute segments by Patty Carluccio and Stacy Kershaw about roses and other garden plants so helpful in little doses I can remember. The Whole Foods buffet and desserts by Prince Street were so yummy while listening to Penpa Tsering’s Tibetan music, and Allen Zhou and Katrina Gustafson play original songs. A celebration worthy of the summer solstice!”
