Coming off a strong 15-3 season, the 2015 Bedford Boy’s Tennis team took on Whitinsville Christian High School at St. John’s in Shrewsbury on Friday afternoon, winning all five of the day’s Division 3 championship matches.

Ben Biswas won the first singles match, John Dickinson Meltz took  second singles, and Kevin Cowles third. Chris En and Chris Adamik took first doubles, while Ben Johnson and Peter Whallon won second doubles.

Once Weston — a victorious opponent in three of the past four years — was vanquished in the first round of tournament play, the Bucs rolled forward with a 5-0 semi-final sweep over Dover-Sherborn to reach ultimate victory in the finals. “We were galvanized,” said one player.

Coach John Geilfuss and Assistant Coach Marjorie Marino could have another great season in store since just four of this year’s team (John Dickinson Meltz, Kevin Cowles, Ben Johnson and Peter Whallon) have graduated, leaving several seasoned players and a strong JV team behind.
