“Better living through stitching together” came to Bedford Common on Saturday, June 13, in celebration of 10th annual World Wide Knit in Public Day. Saturday’s event was organized by Sharon Cozzi who invited the knitters to a shady spot on Bedford Common, proving that “not only grannies knit.”
Established by in 2005, WWKiP began as a way for often-solitary knitters to get out into their communities and meet their neighbors. The event has spread, growing from a base of 25 celebrations to 751 events in multiple countries from Australia and China to Sweden and South Africa with each event organized by knitters for knitters.
