Wedgewood: Season’s First Dive & Swim Meet at Westford

The comparatively small but fierce Wedgewood Dive and Swim team had their first meet this morning against Westford at the Westford Swim and Tennis Club. Although Wedgewood took the loss, there were several standouts in the team which resulted in a great early start to competition season.

The meet kicked off with the dive teams going head to head each member doing three dives. The Wedgewood Team held their own with the seasoned dive team of  Bella Seldon, Audrey Leida, Jackson Stuzynski and Caitlin Pequeno. Wedgewood took home first (Pequeno), second (I Stuzynski) and sixth ( Amelia Leida) in the age 13-14 1 meter dive. They also placed second (Seldon) in the 10 and under age group dive and third (Audrey Leida) and fourth (J Stuzynski) in the 11-12 age group.

First place winners were; Kelly Warhover (individual medley), Katie Dillon (freestyle) and Charlotte Weber (backstroke). Taking home second place were Adam Driscoll (individual medley), Sofie Huntington (butterfly), Owen Brough (freestyle), Julia Dearing (butterfly), Jimmy McGinn (butterfly), Devin Leida (breaststroke), Ava Venui (breaststroke), Jeffrey Dillon (butterfly), Grace Weisz (breaststroke), Devin Leida (freestyle), Katie Dillon (backstroke), Matthew Tonini (backstroke), Jimmy McGinn (backstroke) and Julia Doucet (backstroke).

The next events to look forward to are the June 29th dive meet at Wedgewood  and the July 8th meet between Wedgewood and Chelmsford.
