The 2015 Brine National Lacrosse Classic had 1,800 participants — 1,100 boys and 700 girls. The teams from 32 states and Great Britain were in grades 7-10, and organized by year of high school graduation.

Along with 22 other girls from New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Massachusetts, Angelina DeVellis of Bedford played on the Girls Northeast 2019 team as a rising freshman at Middlesex School in Concord.

DeVellis is also a member of the Mass Elite team that plays year-round in Stoughton. In an email interview she said that the experience was “the best lacrosse skill level I [have ever] played against, with the most talented New England team.”

The 2015 Brine National Lacrosse Classic was moved from Maryland to a new venue in Virginia to accommodate the larger number of participants; the new venue boasted 9 synthetic turf fields. The week-long event included conditioning sessions, team practices and games against teams from Virginia, Long Island (NY), Georgia, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
