Pete Sullivan, who was known to those who loved him as Big Sull, made a difference in so many lives with his infectious smile, his love for his family and his incredible generosity.

He grew up in Belmont and attended Boston College before moving to New York where he began his sales career. During Pete’s 25 years with Hilti, he was a successful salesman whose number one goal was to always provide for his family.

Pete met Maureen McAuliffe at Bobby Byrnes’ where it was love at first sight. He sealed the deal the following day by sending her 24 red roses with a note to get rid of her boyfriend. Pete and Maureen were married and christened their first child, Christian, on their first wedding anniversary. When their second son Patrick was born, Pete couldn’t believe he was lucky enough to have two boys. Little did he know the joy he would have raising the baby of the family, Miss Kelly.

Pete was notorious for his coaching style with the Bedford travel basketball program as well as his love for spending time on the golf course with his young children.  He was also known for his love and talent for renovating the homes of his family. In the last two weeks of life, Pete completed his bucket list by cruising under the Bourne Bridge and buying his wife “Mobear” a BMW convertible.

Pete will be deeply missed by Maureen, Christian, Patrick and Kelly as well as his brother Tom and his wife Kathy, his brother John, his daughter-in-law Christine, his beautiful grandchildren, Maddie and Mackenzie, and his dear friends and family.
