About G. Johnson
G. Johnson can be found in the Bedford Board of Health office during regular business hours. In the office she is known as Gemmesa Mercado but young readers will soon know Mercado as the author of Seacoo, an about-to-be published children’s book. Seacoo is a heart-warming tale wherein a lonely, inquisitive panda bear cub with a passion for reading learns a valuable lesson about friendship and forgiveness.
From the publisher’s website: “Seacoo’s parents are the only other animals he knows that can read, but his mother is always busy and story time doesn’t happen as often anymore. When a saddened Seacoo meets Coco, a beautiful red panda who shares his love of reading, he gains not only a new friend, but also a lesson about the power of forgiveness and the beauty of change.”
G. Johnson is the mother of two young children who writes from her own parenting experience, making the book relatable to parents as well as youngsters. After spending years home-schooling her children, and having come from a long line of teachers, Johnson also incorporates educational elements into her writing.
Seacoo is published by Knew Books Publishing of Bedford under ISBN 978-0-578-13722-3.
