Wayland at Wedgewood and Family Day

Saturday brought another fun filled day for the members of the Wedgewood Swim and Tennis Club. The club hosted a home swim meet against Wayland which was followed by their annual family day.  The Wedgewood Swim and Dive team won the meet handily, with 410 points to Wayland’s 336. The meet had a great energy with some stiff competition with the comparably sized teams.

Wedgewood’s swimmers have been working hard these last weeks and it shows. In diving the following took first place: Isabella Seldon, Megan Demeo and Maya Driscoll. Both the Wedgewood boys and girls grand freestyle relay teams took home first as well. The boys team consisted of; Leo Natalizio, Eric Miles, Bobby Marcus and Jeffrey Dillon. The girl’s team consisted of; Katie Dillon, Kelly Warhover, Julia Dearing and Lily Nemirovsky.  Wedgewood ladies also took home first in the 100 Yard Medley Grand Relay. The team consisted of; Charlotte Weber, Ali Zorn, Julia Palazzo and Megan Demeo.

Other first place winners in their respective races were:Kelly Warhover, Eric Miles, Bobby Marcus, Chris Wirth, Megan Demeo and Lily Nemirovsky, Leo Natalizio, Avery Kaplan, Sofie Huntington, Devin Leida, Ava Venuti, Ali Zorn, Jimmy McGinn, July Palazzo, Adam Driscoll, Ashley Fallon, Julia Dearing, Katie Dillon, Kara Shelmire and Charlotte Weber.

After a busy morning Wedgewood celebrated yet another successful Family Day, organized by Becky Ricci and Marillian Missiti. The day consisted of various water events, cannonball contests, staff talent show, swim relays, dancing and a BBQ. The night ended by 8pm with the members rolling home to recover from another busy summer day.
