Compiled by The Bedford Citizen

Town of Bedford New SealA pair of Planning Board public hearings are scheduled for Wednesday, September 30 in the Flint Room at Town Center.

Hearings are often a legal requirement, but they are also a true opportunity for residents to comment on a specific issue before a town board.  Anyone is welcome though all attendees must sign in on the clipboard provided.

Conversion of Public School Buildings to Multiple Residential

The first hearing begins at 7:30 PM and concerns an amendment to the “Conversion of Public School Buildings to Multiple Residential,” bylaw section 11, which was written when the Page School building was declared surplus and sold for a condominium conversion.

The Page Place Condominium Trust requested the zoning change through initiative petition. It asks for a bylaw change on the warrant for Special Town Meeting on November 2 that would allow the condominium trust to add housing units and garages on the property at 75 Page Road.  Click here to read the Page Place Zoning Amendment DRAFT

Planned Residential Development on South Road

The second hearing, for a Planned Residential Development (PRD) to be built at 150A-162 South Road, is at 8:30 PM. The plan calls for nine cottage style units with two to three bedrooms, a single garage and a porch.  Click here to read the Final public notice for the Planned Residential Development on South Road
