The Friends of Bedford Memorial Park Committee would like to thank the large number of Bedford residents and entities that contributed to the success of the Bedford Memorial Park Sign fundraiser. To date a total of 119 donations were received totaling $6,865 (our original goal was $4,500).

The majority of these donations came from Bedford residents along with a few Bedford organizations which included the VFW Post.

The current plan is to unveil the sign at this year’s Veterans Day Ceremony on November 11th at Veterans Memorial Park.  The donations will cover the full purchase price of the sign complete with granite posts along with a raised landscaping and exterior illumination. The full cost of the sign is lower than original estimates thanks to the assistance of Roy Sorensen, Bedford DPW Director who is assisting with the installation along with the installation of the raised landscape bed and exterior illumination.  We anticipate that there will be a surplus of funds when all of this work is completed. The Committee will work with Town Officials and some donors to use the surplus funds to help fund other improvements at Veterans Memorial Park which may include additional memorial stones.

Thank you for your generosity,

Friends of Veterans Memorial Park Committee
Joe Piantedosi-Chair, Paul Purchia, John Monahan, Bobbie Ennis, James Burton, Jon O’Conner, Oscar DePriest, Jerry Hartman and Bill Linnehan.
