HistSoc logoLocal artists affiliated with the Bedford Arts & Crafts Society, Bedford Center for the Arts and the Gallery at First Parish will display their artworks during the Bedford Historical Society’s Heirloom Discovery and Antiques Appraisal event this Thursday, November 5.

The artists are Anita Feld, Jeanne Reidy, Evelyn Rice and Laura Wallace of the Bedford Arts and Crafts Society and Bob Bass, Kathy DeFlice-Secor, Dennis Rainville and Jan van Steenwijk of the Bedford Center for the Arts. Work on display in the Gallery at First Parish on the second floor of the historic meeting house on Bedford Common.

Watercolors, oil paintings, photographs and other artwork will entertain the public while they wait in the Common Room of the First Parish Church, 75 The Great Rd. between 10 am and 4 pm on November 5, to have their treasurers appraised by the experts from Kaminski Auctions.

Refreshments will be available all day, provided by Whole Foods, Stop & Shop, and numerous Historical Society bakers.

The public is invited to attend this appraisal event, which will benefit the Society’s mission of re-establishing a Bedford History Museum.  The appraisal of one item will cost $10 or $25 for three items.  Multiples of three are encouraged, and the appraisers also will make house calls for $50 to view multiple items – as long as these visits are scheduled close to the time of the event.

To arrange for an appraiser to come for a house call, contact the Historical Society at [email protected] or call 781-275-7276.
Kaminski Auctions of Beverly, Massachusetts and Beverly Hills and San Diego, California, have served the New England antiques market for over 25 years.  Their trained and knowledgeable appraisers will answer questions as to the age and history of their objects and provide verbal estimates of their value.  Known for their celebrity appraisals – such as Oprah Winfrey’s collection, Kaminski’s appraisers can determine the true value of individual antiques or entire collections.
