In the cold and dark Bedford again lights candles, tolls the bell, and pledges never to remain silent in the presence of hatred, bigotry, and injustice.

Each year we gather on the Common at 7pm on November 9th to commemorate Kristallnacht, “the night of broken glass.” On that night in 1938 in Germany, Nazi hooligans broke Jewish shop windows, desecrated temples, and sowed the fear that would produce the Holocaust.

Joining with members of the Bedford Jewish Community and all townspeople, all are invited to this brief and important commemoration.
