Two new victualers licenses were approved and two liquor licenses were transferred by the Selectmen on December 21, 2015, adding to the recent changes to restaurant options in Bedford.
Virsa de Punjab Kitchen
The first victualer’s license was approved for Virsa de Punjab Kitchen to be located at 347 the Great Road, formerly Firebox, and the liquor license held by Firebox BBQ was approved for transfer to Virsa de Punjab Kitchen. On their website, Firebox announced that though they are closing their restaurant, they will continue to operate Wildfire Catering.
Comella’s
A victualer’s license was also granted to Comella’s, to be located in Bedford Marketplace. The Selectmen also approved transfer of a liquor license, formerly held by KaNoon Thai Cuisine, to Comella’s. The Zoning Board of Appeals had approved up to 100 seats for the new restaurant. Construction is expected to begin in a month, and the owners hope to open in the spring. It is the thirteenth Comella’s restaurant in eastern Massachusetts. Manager Jim Proctor described Comella’s as a locally-owned chain, serving homemade Italian food and catering to families.
