Bedford Santa 2014The Bedford Community Santa Program is now making preparations for Santa’s Christmas Eve ride.  This is a unique community program that has operated for more than 50 years. This program is a very large volunteer effort with both current and former Bedfordites supporting Santa’s visit. Any child in Bedford can be visited by Santa on Christmas Eve and be presented with a special Christmas gift. Expenses are covered by donations, not town funds and volunteers make this special evening a success.

Registration cards were mailed to residents and should be returned to Box 797, Bedford, MA 01730. You may register by phone by calling 781-275-1680 or register today online at the Bedford Santa website, www.bedfordsanta.com. To “register” please provide NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, and NUMBER OF GIFTS you will have Santa deliver. If you call please help us by spelling your last name and leaving your phone number in case of questions.

Gift Drop Off Day is Saturday, December 19th from 9:00 AM- 5:00 PM at the John Glenn Middle School. Please come as early in the day as possible. Remember to keep gifts small, one gift per child. Wrap all the gifts for the same address in the same paper. On a detachable tag print family name and address on front and child’s name and age on the back. Santa will begin his deliveries on December 24th at 5:30 and should complete his route by 7:30. Santa may get delayed but if he does not arrive by 8:30 please call 781-879-9817

My family lived in Bedford from 1956 until the middle of 1959. I was 4 when we moved there and having Santa come to the house on Christmas Eve is a vivid memory of our time there. The fact that he knew my name! and handed me a present with my name on it! was beyond wonder. There are some old 8mm movies of the yearly event somewhere around here. I am so glad that young people in Bedford still get to be visited by Santa on Christmas Eve! Thanks for the memories!
