Bedford-based Kammerwerke Double Wind Quintet, Alan Pearlmutter, conductor, presents The French Connection, a concert at First Parish Unitarian Universalist, 75 The Great Road, Bedford, Massachusetts. Saturday, January 30, 2016, at 7:30 p.m.
The concert will include: Gabriel Fauré’s Pavane; Emile Bernard’s Divertissement for wind instruments, Op. 36; Georges Enesco’s Dixtuor; Francis Casadesus’s London Sketches: petite suite humoristique pour instruments à vent; and more.
KDWQ features rarely heard original compositions and arrangements of more well-known classical works for ten wind instruments. Dectets, rather rare in America, combine the intimacy of chamber groups and the power of larger ensembles; the sound resonates with a full panorama of orchestral color, depth and brilliance.
