Suspect in Bedford Carjacking Held Without Bail

Marian Ryan DA sealMiddlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan has announced that Michael Sullivan, 35, of Quincy, was arraigned today in Concord District Court on the charge of carjacking.

Judge Sabita Singh ordered the defendant held without bail pending a 58A dangerousness hearing. The next scheduled hearing in this case is Wednesday, February 17.

On Saturday, February 6 at approximately 9:50 a.m., Bedford Police responded to a reported carjacking that had taken place at a gas station on North Road in Bedford. Upon arrival, authorities were informed that while a woman was waiting in the car for her husband who had gone inside the gas station, the defendant allegedly entered the car telling the victim that he needed to move the vehicle due to gas station rules. The defendant then allegedly fled the gas station with the victim in the car and was apprehended shortly thereafter by Carlisle Police.

This charge is an allegation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The prosecutor assigned to this case is Assistant District Attorney Wendi Safran.
