Alma Hart of Bedford, proud mother of PFC John D. Hart, U.S. Army who was killed in action in Iraq, joined Boston’s Mayor Martin J. Walsh in Memorial Day ceremonies at the Gardens Cemetery’s Veterans Corner Garden of Honor.

Others on the program included the Honorable Sean J. Stackley, Assistant Secretary of the Navy (RDA); State Senator Mike Rush, Chair, Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs; Retired Army First Sergeant Christine Tron, VFW Essex District #10 Commander after an invocation by His Eminence Metropolitan Methodios of Boston.

The program was hosted by the West Roxbury V.F.W. POST 2902, Richard F. Gormley, Commander, USMC, (Ret.) with music provided by the Commonwealth Brass Quintet.

The Harts joined other Gold Star families for the dedication of Massachusetts’ Fallen Heroes Memorial in Boston’s Seaport District.
