The Wedgewood Swim & Tennis Club kicked off its first swim meet of the season against the Heritage Pool & Racquet Club of Concord on June 29th. After gathering for a photo, the swim team held up signs to cheer on former Wedgewood team member, Olivia Jameson, who was competing in the Olympic Trials that weekend.
While Heritage won the meet 515.5 – 294.5, the following swimmers and divers earned first place finishes for Wedgewood: Julia Dearing (individual medley, freestyle), Julia Doucet (butterfly, freestyle), Kate Patterson (breaststroke), Kenny Doucet (backstroke), Mary Manning (backstroke), Isabella Seldon (diving), Maya Driscoll (diving) and Caitlin Pequeno (diving).
Swimmers and divers who contributed points to the overall score of the swim meet were: Sarah Tonini, Ann Girifalco, Julia Palazzo, Jimmy McGinn, Devin Leida, Timothy Dillon, Matthew Tonini, Willow McGinness, Jocelyn Bullard, Rylee Gilmartin, Sanders Bertos, Dylan Kenahan, Katie Dillon, Grace Weisz, Kelly Warhover, Alexandra Zorn, Sophia Seldon, Jeffrey Dillon, Sean Doucet, Madelyn Dearing, Ashley Fallon, Timothy Regan, Brielle Carman, Taelor Nichols, Liliana Carman, Alex Brough, Nicole Hebert, Christina Benson, Melissa Driscoll, Sebastian Woolnough, Sally McPhee, Sofie Huntington, Caroline Towle, Keith Miles, McKenna Wilson, Delaney Bertos, Owen Brough, Rylan Nichols, Charlotte Weber, Riley Stevens, Teresa Silver and Sam Huntington.
Wedgewood will be swimming next against Colonial League opponent Westford on Saturday, July 9th.
