A “monument” sign will soon mark Bedford Marketplace’s entrance.

The sign permit approved on August 10 is based on design drawings approved by the Zoning Board of Appeals in May.

The 16-inch-deep sign will stand 17 feet tall, with a copper roof and a stone base.

The sign’s aluminum peak will be “painted to “match [the] green in the shopping center,” according to the approved drawings. Its decorative trim elements will be painted antique white, with ivory striping.

Lexan nameplates for each Marketplace tenant will be internally illuminated, using soft white LED track lights, invisible to passersby.

As tenants change, their name plates will be replaced.
