Bedford Cub Scout Pack 194 will hold its annual Field Day and registration drive at Field E, across from the Bedford Library, on Monday, August 22, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, rain or shine. This event is FREE and open to all local families interested in learning more about Cub Scouting in Bedford. Guests are also invited to drop in for fun games like kickball, Wiffle ball, and an obstacle course.

Current Cub Scouts and adult leaders will be on hand to answer questions and to register new and returning participants for the upcoming program year. Cub Scouting is open to all boys entering grades 1 through 5. (Boys entering 6th grade or higher are invited to join either of the two Boy Scout Troops in Bedford).

Cub Scouting is about building character, and helps instill in boys important values like citizenship, compassion, cooperation, and responsibility. Cub Scouting emphasizes participation and diligence, encouraging boys to live out the Cub Scout motto—“Do Your Best”—whether in school, sports, at home, or the wider community.

Pack 194 is among the largest and most active in the region, offering boys and their families a fun schedule of annual events. Regular highlights of the program year include: an outing to the Providence Bruins; a Pack Swim; a Pack Carnival led by the boys; our annual Pinewood Derby race; the Beautify Bedford cleanup; participation in Bedford Day, Veterans’ Day, and Memorial Day observances; a campout on board the battleship USS Massachusetts; and an outfield campout following a Lowell Spinners game. Cub Scouts also participate in regional events such as day camps and overnight outings at Boy Scouts of America (BSA) facilities.

In addition to Field Day, Pack 194 will hold additional registration events in September, at Bedford Day (Sept. 17th) and at our annual model rocket launch and cookout, details of which will be announced soon.
