build-an-adventureBedford Cub Scout Pack 194 will hold an informational meeting on September 14th from 7–8pm in the cafeteria of Bedford High School. This meeting is open to parents and guardians of all boys in grades 1–5 who would like to learn more about Cub Scouting in Bedford. Experienced adult leaders will be on hand to answer all your questions about our program, including our mission and purpose, planned activities for the program year, and ways in which both boys and adults can participate.

Cub Scouting is about building character while having fun. We help boys learn to be responsible citizens, good sportsmen, inquisitive outdoorsmen, resourceful craftsmen, and friends to everyone. Cub Scouting emphasizes participation and diligence, encouraging boys to live out the Cub Scout motto—“Do Your Best”—whether in the classroom, at home, on the playing field, on stage, or out in our community.

Bedford’s Pack 194 is among the largest and most active in the region, and for over fifty years has offered boys and their families a fun schedule of annual events. Regular highlights of the program year include a model rocket launch; an outing to the Providence Bruins; a Pack Swim; a Pack Carnival led by the boys; our annual Pinewood Derby race; the Beautify Bedford cleanup; participation in Bedford Day, Veterans’ Day, and Memorial Day observances; and an outfield campout following a Lowell Spinners game. Cub Scouts also participate in regional events, such as day camps and overnight outings at Boy Scouts of America (BSA) facilities.

Pack 194 includes over 50 Cub Scouts, organized into “dens” of 4–8 boys based on grade level. Each den convenes once or twice a month for meetings, which include hikes, visits to local points of interest, games, and other activities. The Pack also meets monthly for group activities and to recognize boys who have earned achievements and rank badges established by BSA.

This meeting is for adults only. Boys who would like to learn more about our Pack are welcome to visit our booth at Bedford Day, September 17th, or to join our pack for our annual model rocket launch and family cookout, details of which will be announced shortly.
