Selectmen and Board of Health Make Joint Appointment to Fill Unexpired Term

By Debra Parkhurst

SelectmenOver the course of two evenings, October 17 and 24, the Board of Selectmen met jointly with the Board of Health to interview four candidates for a recently vacated position on the Board of Health.

Normally an elected position, the two boards vote to fill the vacancy until the next town election in March, whereupon the newly selected member would have to run for the position.   Michael Garber, Ann Kiessling, Laurie Pariseau, and Mary Seymour all submitted Volunteer Questionnaires.

Chairman Rosenberg said it was a testament to the “ethos of the community”that so many qualified volunteers stepped forward.  He noted the difficulty of making the choice, and expressed appreciation and respect for the candidates.  Mary Seymour, a registered nurse, was appointed to the position.
