flavors-of-bedford-2016Particularly now, in election season when everyone is asking for dollars and volunteers, you might find it hard to give up anything to yet, another organization looking to raise money. Still, before you RSVP your regrets for this event, you might consider the top ten reasons we’ve heard people say make Flavors of Bedford a “must-go-to” year after year:

Reason #1: Unlike all those political candidates who keep telling you they care about the middle class and small business, the Bedford Chamber of Commerce really does. Every dollar raised by this, their premier tasting event, goes to promote Bedford businesses and quality of life. What’s more, a portion of the proceeds is dedicated to Friends of Hasncom, a group that offers support to the families at Hanscom Airforce Base. Now if that isn’t about us, what is?

Reason #2: Our sponsors are the best. Top among them are the Doubletree Bedford Glen Hotel and Brown and Brown Attorneys, who provide principle support for Flavors of Bedford. Inveterate foodies, Nat and Judy Brown are always on hand to say hello and venture opinions about the best dishes. Doubletree Bedford Glen employees are available all night as well, including top chef, Jayson DeMarco, who always puts on a great spread at his tasting table.

Reason #3: You need to eat. What Sunday evening goes by when you don’t feel those hunger pangs after a tough day watching the puppies and parents…or whatever it is you do. No matter whether you eat to live or live to eat, Flavors of Bedford is guaranteed to tickle your tastebuds with new combinations and lots of familiar fare offered by 17 different eating establishments.

Reason #4: No play makes anyone dull. Here’s a chance to get out and have some fun. Flavors of Bedford is an elegant affair that doesn’t require you to dress up all that much…unless, of course, you’d like to do that. The lovely setting and services are top notch, thanks to the very excellent Doubletree Bedford Glen Hotel. A huge crowd helps increase the festive atmosphere, as does the entertainment, conversation, competition, and prizes.

Reason #5: There’s always a place for you. Did we mention that this tasting gets crowded? Well, it does. Still, there is always plenty to eat—as much as you could want—provided by some of the best restaurants in the area. There is also seating available, and lots of space with high tables for  perusing and perching as you graze the goodies served in lovey…and convenient…tasting portions.

Reason #6: Your senses will be delighted. Besides delicious dishes, Flavors of Bedford offers a wonderful mix of savory smells, amazing textures, beautiful displays and exceptional music provided by local talent.

Reason #7: You just might win. While it is true that Flavors of Bedford is primarily about eating, there are opportunities get lucky. As always, this premier tasting event is supported by an excellent group of sponsors, including many who provide valuable prizes offered as raffle items..

Reason #8: Your imagination will run wild. Flavors of Bedford is a real community event, where talented local chefs and guests share ideas and inspirations. Set just before the holidays, It’s a chance to refresh your creative side in time for your celebrations.

Reason #9: You love a good value. Flavors of Bedford tickets are available online for a mere $35 with significant discounts for seniors and large parties. If you don’t have access to a computer, call the Bedford Chamber directly to find out how to order tickets by mail.

Reason #10: Our website says it all. Ten reasons are great, but there’s always more. Go to the Flavors of Bedford website for complete details about participating restaurants, sponsors, ways to participate and donate, and of course, to buy tickets.

Great Community event. I wouldn’t miss it. Note this article IS for 2016 and the date is correct 11/6/16 despite the last line that says 2012.
