Bedford TV held their Annual Meeting and first ever Awards Party on Friday, November 4th. The event, held in the Great Room at Old Town Hall, was a celebration to recognize the many volunteers that help out at the station. This red-carpet event brought the whole BTV community together, from the people you see on TV, to the people behind the scenes. These awards were all about celebrating and appreciating the hard work of the many volunteers involved with the station.
The first award of the evening was The Joe Serra Most Valuable Crew Member Award. Joe was a 56-year resident of Bedford and a valued member of Bedford TV. Joe was a member of the Board of Directors of Bedford TV, a crew member for many shows, a tech support guru, and most of all a friend to everyone at the channel. With his family in attendance, Bedford TV was honored to give the award in his name to Bob Dutton, Treasurer of the Bedford TV Board of Directors and crew member for many Bedford TV shows including the Bedford TV News where he runs the studio switcher.
The other awards presented were:
- Best Musical Performance – Allen Zhou & Marko Deperalta
- Best Solo Host – Wayne Braverman, Celebrate Life
- Best Makeup & Costume – Mike Kelley, CC Clownsbee
- Rookie of the Year – Steve McMahon
- Live Show of the Year – The Bedford TV Studio Marathon
- Most Viral – BHS Graduation
- Best Choreography – Ken Hill, Zack Martinkus & Julian Warren, The Wrestling Kennection
- Best Ensemble Cast – The Bedford TV News
- Best Promo – Chris Cullity
- Viewer’s Choice – Patty Carluccio, Pretty Simple Gardens
- Red Heat Tavern Volunteer of the Month – Ann Seamans
- Red Heat Tavern Volunteer of the Year – Penpa Tsering
Ann Seamans, winner of volunteer of the month, said of the party “Bedford TV Awards night was a gala! We looked gorgeous in our dressy clothes; enjoyed delicious food and awesome decorations by Paula; a funny and interesting annual report from Greg; the joy of watching our friends and colleagues get their well deserved awards. A great night out!”
“I had such a good time at the Bedford TV Awards night” said Patty Carluccio, host of Pretty. Simple. Gardens. “It was so nice to see everyone. Great group of people. I was so surprised and very honored that Pretty. Simple. Gardens was selected for the the viewers Choice Award. Huge thank you and hugs to all of you that voted for me. Plus, I was so nervous because George Clooney was there and I’ve always wanted to meet him!”
