Bedford's Thanksgiving Morning Turkey Trot - Sporting a New Banner at JGMS

Bedford runners and walkers will gather at the John Glenn Middle School early on Thanksgiving morning for the 10th annual running of the Bedford Turkey Trot.

In this low-key but enjoyable annual event, both runners and walkers will start and finish at JGMS. There will be prizes for the top runners and special prizes based on certain criteria – oldest & youngest runners, first walker, first pet finisher, family with the most participants and finally, who came the furthest for this years Turkey Trot. Prizes again will be donated by our great Sponsor – Nancy at Bedford Florist.

This is a low key annual event with over 90% of all donations to help the Bedford Food Pantry and Community Table, Inc. The 2015 run set a record for donations, with more than $10,000 collected in support of the Bedford Community Table/Pantry, Inc.

New this year, organizer Rich Hamilton has announced that a maximum of 250 runners will be allowed on the course to assure runners’ safety, so participants are encouraged to register early.Participants will have to be turned away on Race Day once hitting 250 are registered.

Pre-Registration with a donation can be made of $25 can be entered until Sunday, November 20, and the first 150 applicants will receive a Turkey Trot T-Shirt compliments of Bedford Florists and Callahan’s Karate. Race Day registration at JGMS Bedford starts at 7am with a donation of $30. Race jerseys are only available to runners who pre-register.

Registered runners can pickup their race packages from 3 to 6 pm on Wednesday, November 23 from at the Race Director’s residence, 5 Francis Kelley Road.

IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT….PLEASE READ! As part of the registration process a liability waiver form will need to be acknowledged by all walkers/runners that will be participating. If on-line the waiver is included with the Registration….If signing up race-day, the form will need to be completed. For those individuals under 18 years of age your parent/legal guardian must complete your application on your behalf. On Race Day, the registration and waiver form must be completed by your parent/guardian or you will not be able to participate, so please register in advance.
