Letter to the Editor, November 7, 2016: Take Time to Vote!

Submitted by Dr. James C. Mabry
President, Middlesex Community College

Letter-to-the-EditorAs we approach Election Day, I want to encourage everyone to take time to vote. As citizens, we have the right to vote, but more importantly, it is our responsibility to vote. By casting your ballot in local, state, and national elections, you help shape the place in which you live. Voting is the most powerful tool you have to voice your opinion on how our government should operate.

This year, Massachusetts’ voters will help elect a new President, but will also vote on four statewide ballot questions. I encourage you to educate yourself on these issues before heading to the polls. You can find more information about these issues, as well as where and when you can vote, by visiting https://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/

As you cast your ballot this week, remember you are voting for your future and your vote matters.
