In early 1997 Hintlian began photographing the Central Artery/Tunnel Project and it became his world for the seven and a half years that followed.  Completely unofficial and without permission he entered the sites 3 or 4 times per week often as early as 5:00 a.m. and as late as midnight along with workers of various trades.  He worked for several hours or until supervision appeared to ask him to leave.  This was of little concern as the project was so incredibly large that a simple two-block walk offered entrance to yet another amazing site and he continued to work. From the earliest the idea of this work was about how these amazing assets were created, mostly by hand.

The BCA Photo Group is composed of about 50 members.  Unlike most photo clubs, the BCA Group is non-competitive, emphasizing education and information sharing.  The Group generally meets on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at First Parish.  The schedule of upcoming meetings can be found at the Group’s website bcaphoto.org.  Guests are welcome.
