Joined by his colleagues in the Massachusetts State Senate, State Senator Mike Barrett, D-Lexington took the oath of office on January 4th to begin a new two-year term.

In addition to local priorities, Barrett’s statewide agenda includes eliminating fines and fees on poor people in the criminal justice system; ensuring that presidential candidates release their tax returns in order to appear on Massachusetts primary and general election ballots; a nation-leading effort to fight climate change by putting a price on carbon; and increased state aid to local education.
