With snow in the forecast for this afternoon and overnight, the DPW is making its usual preparations to treat and clear the roads. One thing residents can do to help is to take in any trash carts and recycling bins that are still down by the curb.
“I noticed a number of homes today where the trash carts and recycling bins were still out by the curb,” said Ed McGrath, Bedford’s Recycling Coordinator. “If your cart and bins are still out, please bring them in. If your neighbor’s cart and bin are still out, commit a random act of kindness and move them away from the road.”
Keeping the curbs clear of various objects, like trash carts, helps the DPW work more efficiently. It also avoids the hassle of needing to get a replacement cart or bin.
