Submitted by CSF of Bedford Dollars for Scholars
On March 4 and 5, local high school student volunteers will gather at the MITRE Corporation for the 52nd annual CSF of Bedford Dollars for Scholars Phone-A-Thon, the main source for the CSF scholarships awarded each spring.
The students will telephone Bedford residents seeking donations that will fund the yearly CSF awards. Scholarship recipients are chosen by a selection board of BHS civic leaders and CSF directors led by Laura Heyl; recipients will be recognized at the CSF reception in May.
MITRE, the host for this year’s Phone-A-Thon, E has once more donated use of their facilities by the student volunteers recruited by Bedford High School’s Social Studies Department. Alma and Sal Pomponi, Phone-A-Thon chairpersons for this annual community event, work tirelessly to prepare the event and supervise the scores of volunteers who make the event possible.
