With February vacation over, and Annual Town Meeting beginning in several weeks, Town boards and committee meetings are picking up again.

At Monday night’s Selectmen’s meeting, Bedford Representative Ken Gordon will brief the Selectmen on the state budget and potential legislative matters. There will be an update on Affordable Housing Monitoring.  The board will also review the Annual Town Meeting Warrant and complete article recommendations.

February 28 the Planning Board will hear a request to add ten more independent living units at Carleton-Willard Village on Old Billerica Road and hear an update on the Great Road rezoning project.

On Tuesday the Community Preservation Committee will hear a presentation by the Community Preservation Coalition and review Town Meeting articles.

Also on Tuesday, the School Committee will hold a mid-year review of the district goals.  They also will vote on the wheelchair lift to provide handicap access to the press box at Sabourin Field.

On Wednesday, March 1 the Historic District Commission will hold several public hearings.

LOOKING AHEAD to SATURDAY, MARCH 4: Mark your calendar for a public workshop presented by the Planning Board from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday, March 4 to consider business use along The Great Road. Residents are invited to contribute ideas about the future of Bedford’s business areas as part of the Great Road Zoning Project.
