To say that the Bedford Buccaneers had all cannons blazing against Amesbury in the first round of the MIAA North Division 3 post-season Boys Basketball Tournament is an understatement.

The Bedford team had their highest offensive output since the first game of the season as they cruised to an 84-60 victory at home. Pete Kapanides led all scorers with 17 points, and 10 different Bucs scored.

Bedford jumped out to an 11-3 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.  By half-time, Bedford had stretched the lead to 17 points, 47-32.

The next playoff game is this Friday at 7 pm in Weston.

The two teams have already played twice this year; both times the home team lost. The final match-up went into overtime in Weston for a Bedford win.

On a personal note, Bedford High fans came to the game dressed in a festive “Beach Theme”, which also is the theme for this year’s Bedford Relay for Life to Wipe Out Cancer.  So now that this writer knows that you all have proper attire, I expect to see you on a Relay team this May 20th!
