Outgoing Library Trustee Endorses Rachel Field and Robin Grace Silbert for Library Board
As an avid library supporter and trustee of 15 years, I’m excited that Bedford has three strong candidates currently running for Library Trustee: Rachel Field (incumbent), Robin Grace and Sarita Pillai. Since there are only two open seats, however, I’m endorsing Rachel Field and Robin Grace for Library Trustee based on my experience with and utmost confidence in these talented and dedicated community leaders.
First, I would encourage you to re-elect Rachel Field (Town Caucus Nominee) who has been serving as an exemplary Library Trustee since 2008. In the nine years we have worked together on the board, Rachel has proven herself as a forward-thinking, proactive, and very effective steward, clearly devoted to ensuring the library excels in its mission and supports its greatest asset – our amazing library staff! In particular, Rachel has brought energy and leadership as a past chair of the board, an advocate for meeting the needs of all Bedford residents, and a key contributor to the library’s new 5-year Strategic Plan. Rachel’s re-election as trustee is important not only to preserve her talent on the board but also to provide continuity as the Library Director and staff implement this strategic vision for the future.
For the second open seat, I invite you to support Robin Grace for Library Trustee. A long-time Bedford resident, Robin has contributed her time and talent to help make Bedford the community we’re all proud to call home. Robin has volunteered extensively with Bedford Public Schools and associated programs such as METCO and POMS (Patrons of Music Students) and now serves on the Board of Trustees of Carleton-Willard Village and the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Bedford Public Library. Robin’s lifelong passion for libraries, along with her familiarity with Bedford’s community and her thoughtful, articulate and engaging style, will no doubt make her an effective trustee.
