Election ~ 2017: Letter to the Editor, Sarita Pillai for Library Trustee

By Deepti Matrona

I am writing to express my strong support for Sarita Pillai who is running to serve as Library Trustee for the Bedford Free Public Library in town elections on March 11.

I have known Sarita and her family socially for two years and we have several mutual friends.  We both have children of the same age and have an opportunity to connect with each other as mothers for both classroom and school activities. We also work together on a planning committee that plans and hosts many family events for the Bedford Indian community – an event that is open to all and is attended by many of the Bedford families.  She is very organized and fosters team work.

I know Sarita to be a responsible and active member of this community, and someone who is willing to give of herself and her time despite a busy home and work life. I think her technology background and her experience as an education non-profit leader would be a tremendous asset to the library in its deliberations about the best use of resources for the library’s patrons, products, and services.

I also believe a diversity of voices on town committees and boards would benefit all of Bedford residents and I think Sarita would bring a unique perspective to the role of Library Trustee. I know she will work diligently to represent the interest of all Bedford residents, particularly those of us with school age children for whom the library is a very integral part of life.

I am wholeheartedly supporting Sarita’s candidacy and I hope Bedford voters will join me in voting for her on March 11!
