Filosa and Carluccio to Compete in the 2017 MIAA Alpine Ski Tournament

Bedford’s Ski Team, coached by Derek Johnson,  will be sending 2 alpine racers to compete in the 2017 MIAA Alpine Ski Tournament at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area on Tuesday, March 7.

BHS sophomore Matthew Carluccio finished  4^th overall in the boys’ division, and Maddie Filosa, also a BHS sophomore, finished 10^th overall in the girls’ division.  The top 16 racers for each division will race against each other to compete to be state champions.

We wish our racers the best of luck!!

Overall team standing at the conclusion of a fun and exciting regular season is 5th place for the boys’ team and 7^th place for the girls’ team.

Overall individual results:

• Boys Varsity:  Matt Carluccio, 4^th; Nick Schwartz, 22^nd; Ben Oleksinski, 24^th; Alex Oleksinski, 32^nd; Kevin Murphy, 37^th; and  Ian Miles 47^th.  JV team members included Dylan Catanzano, Matt D’Ambra, Aidan Engel, Nikko Galvis, Shane Meyer, Sean Philipson, and Jonathan Salem,
• Girls Varsity:  Maddie Filosa, 13^th‘ Marcie Hartai,25^th; Sienna Merrick, 38^th; Ashley Fallon, 63^rd; and Melissa Driscoll, 82^nd.  JV team members included Amber Beecy and Jamie Winn.
