Lambs and Kids: Signs of Spring at Bedford’s Chip-in and Blueberry Goat Farms

Young visitors from Juneau, Alaska at Chip-in Farm

With photographs by Mary Johannessen and Julie Turner

After several days of raw weather, and before the projected March 31/April 1 storm, we visited both Chip-in Farm and Bedford Blueberry Goat Farm to see the town’s newest four-legged residents.

At Chip-in, bouncy lambs got their afternoon exercise, while in the next pen tiny goats slept in a snuggle for their afternoon nap.

Some of Chip-in’s grown-up animals posed for portraits

Blueberry Goat Farm boasts nearly a dozen kids this season, with more on the way!
