BHS Girls Tennis Evens up Season Record at 2-2 With a Win over Waltham

While the drizzle washed out the baseball and softball games, the BHS Girls Tennis team played under the protected courts at Waltham Athletic Club. Bedford defeated Waltham 5-0 in convincing sets. Bedford Freshman Aneesha Manne defeated Waltham Senior Tiffany Nguyen 6-0 6-0. Junior Mari Fay repeated that score against Waltham’s Brianna Homsi. Third Single player Sarah Pequeno defeated Gina Herosian 6-2 6-2.

Waltham’s Doubles teams are strictly made up of Sophomores – Evelyne Corado & Rachel Cosgrove, and Jamie Mills & Alia Towadjine.  Seniors Izzie Henderson & Hannah Kilroy won their match 6-0 6-0.  Senior Nghi Nguyen and Freshman Amelia Leida completed the sweep 6-0 6-0.

After dropping the first two matches of the season to DCL Large powerhouses CCHS and Acton-Boxborough, Girls Tennis won the last two matches 5-0 over both Billerica Memorial and Waltham.  Their next Match is April 24th at Boston Latin.
